Default Vent Shades

Who installed a set AFTER driving the truck for a while without them? I need to know how much wind noise they cause. People who don't pay attention to things like that need not reply, it will do me no good. Also, did you notice any drop in gas mileage from the extra drag? Thanks.

They create a little extra wind noise but no noticable mpg change. Get the Weathertech brand; they use no tape and can be slipped in or out of the front window channel. The rears still use tape.

I installed the AVS Shades In Channels about 1 week after I got the truck. There is an increase in noise, nothing major, sounds like a window is very slightly cracked. 4th set , one on each truck I've had. No mpg drops.

Don't the in channel ones rip tint off the windows? My buddy has a 2000 Dakota, and his tint is shredded at the top from in channel vent shades.

Factory tint is in the window, aftermarket is on the inside. So, no. It does tend to "scratch" the outside lip of the window. However, if you take a couple mintues after washing your truck and wipe out the channel, no problems.

I guess he has some other issue, then. I never did like the idea of putting that sticky tape on my paint, so I guess I'll be going with the in channel ones.
