I just don't want to see another individual put down $25 - $40,000 on a vehicle hoping to do a lot of aftermarket mods to it.
i get what your saying.. but i think your taking a "glass is half empty" view of the new rams

there isnt anything im looking into for my truck that i CANT and havent already bought for my truck...

and im pretty sure my truck qualifies as having "a lot of aftermarket mods" ..sure i dont have a programmer or hood... but..

lowered suspension... purchased
street scene speed grille...purchased
cold air intake... purchased
exhaust... purchased
24 inch wheels... purchased
correct fit sub enclosure.... purchased
bedrug...purchased
hids....purchased
blacked out tails and 3rd brake light..purchased
line of fire leds... purchased
custom paint job... coming soon

how many does it take to qualify for "a lot"?

so other than multiple programmer options, projectors and led tails.. im not dissatisfied with whats out at the present time.

like dude said up top.. the economy sucks.. not too many people will drop a grand plus for a non functional hood.. sure.. few will.. but i would bet they wouldn't sell 50 in the whole country if they had them laying around right now.

hell they are still coming out with new aftermarket 88-98 gm truck products (led parking lights 4 example) and they stopped making them over a decade ago

i dont think a lack of a FEW bolt ons should stop someone from buying a truck with $10,000+ off msrp, 390 hp and all of the other positive things about the news rams.

I agree that the aftermarket "may" start making more products for the '09+ Rams but none of us can guarantee it.

Doc, you have done a lot to your truck but I don't consider universal or modified stock parts as aftermarket specific for the Ram. And yes you have one of the only 24" wheel that fits our truck but there are 3 or 4 other people here with the Boss 330 also.

Have you looked on Tire Rack? There are quite a few wheels on there for us, as there are around the internet. Is there a specific wheel you want that is not in our size?

Why don't you try to add something positive to this forum? Be happy!

Couple of things to take note of going in.

1) Be aware of the rear end gear. Many have bought trucks with 3.21 ratios and didn't realize it. I'd recommend the 3.92 even though I have the 3.55.

2) They will offer you a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty for around $2800, offer them $1700 for it. You can buy it elsewhere for that price.

3) They will try and sell you gap for around $500, offer $250.

I'll update if I can think of anything else.

Sorry, I'm a straight shooter, I tell it like it is. I don't believe in adding all the "fluff".

And I'm very happy.

Why? Mine has 3.21 gears and you get the best of both worlds, as long as you don't need to tow more than 6K. It gets great milage on the highway and can still pull my 4000lb load at 80 mph with no problems.

3.92's are good if you need to max out the towing capacity, or are into drag racing 3 ton trucks

You tell it like YOU see it.

The fact is, like Doc said, there is aftermarket parts for our truck. Universal is still an aftermarket.

Bully Dog has a programmer out and a there are people on this forum who have them. Hypertech also has a model out for us.

Tell us, what parts are not out that you need or would buy right now?

1). I would recommend the 3.55 or 3.21 unless you pull a heavy trailer or carry a heavy payload all of the time. I have the 3.92's because I wanted the anti spin. I pay for it every time I hit the pump.
