antenna removal?

anyone "shave" their antenna?
i hate seeing the airial whipping around!

I did not stop it from whipping around but did replace in about 30 seconds the chrome antenae with a black one, same style, for about 7 bucks from Pepboys. Looks much better on the blue sport since I swapped out the chrome grill for a matching colored grill.

I cut down the antenna on my last truck by about 3" so it would not catch the door of my garage, but I was warned not to take too much off for fear some reception quality would be lost.
I've seen some that are black plastic or rubber coating that are about 10" tall (considerably thicker too), but no experience with them.

i got a shorty antenna... it works just as good...

I tried a small black metal one. It fit perfect and looked great. However, it only lasted about three days. Anywhere above 60mph and it would whislte like a bird.
