Default '09 Ram 1500 ipod

I have a '09 RAM 1500 with the REN radio and Uconnect. I just installed the ipod cable and it doesn't work. Does something have to be enabled at the dealership. I asked them and they said no. I should just have to plug it in and it will work. An ideas?

Im using a 4th gen ipod nano. The mygig is running 9.292 software and has Sat radio. New cable from the dealer plugged into the module on the right side of the glove box. Any ideas? Bad cable?

So I talked to the service department today and after a few phone calls that they made, they called me back and said the cable i bought last week has been discontinued. They said the ipod cable worked fine for 2nd and 3rd gen nano's but not the 4th or 5th. They said they were told the nano's software is getting to smart for the truck and that the nano is now smarter than the mygig.

What do you think? Has anyone got a 4th or 5th gen nano to work?
