Best Buy on Volant
Guys, I didn't want to add yet another intake thread, but can we post some feedback and links to give us all a nice POR for intakes.
Here is what i have
AEM - $308 autoanything - 8HP Gain in dyno - DryFilter Never needs oiling
Volant - ???
MOPAR -??
AIR RAID -- ?
Im trying to get the best bang for my buck, and think other probably feel the same. For me, i want similar performance but don't need the most expensive option.. In between AEM for the dryfilter option and the lack of oil needed, Need to outweigh that as i plan to get my truck dirty every so often,,,,dirt=mud=re-oil kit = $10-$15

If your worried about the filter getting dirty often then you probably need to get an outerwear for it no matter which one you get. The AEM and mopar are the same and the volant has a dry filter which lasts 4yr/100k miles. The volant can be found here for http://4wheelonline.com/Products.asp...oductID=310329 for about $355 and you can probably find some coupon codes for the site w/ google. My dad has an 09 and if he asked me which intake to get, after seeing all of them I would say the volant or just buy yourself a dryflow drop in.
Yes the catalog states it's a dry filter, I assume it's just a blue AEM dryflow. The AEM and mopar are cleanable synthetic media filters and the volant powercore is a donaldson filter that is use and replace. I think the powercore is a better filter for a larger engine since AEM only tests the dryflow filtration at a max of 240 cfm I'm leery of it's capabilities on a larger engine like the hemi, JMO.
