I love you to man. Did you convert your single in/out to a single in/dual out?

I converted single to dual out.Exit behind both rear tires.Stainless rolled tips,Magnaflow 24 XL series.Muffler shop did while I waited.$310. No difference in power or fuel economy.wasn't about to buy a bumper and such.besides I did not want exhaust blowing on what I tow or on me standing back there etc.

Kewl bro, glad we got that straight, I love everyone, lol! About the exhaust, AFE comes with single 3" in and dual 3"out. They claim HP gains over stock duals so I couldn't go wrong with my situation. I can't vouch for that but it was definately an improvement for me. My single exhaust is pretty cheap looking, like aluminum and rust. I still have them and my grey ST bumpers for emergency purposes. I should have took pics before the install when they were nice and shiny. But at least now we will see the both with milage wear affects. You take care and tks for the understanding and toast!

Did you change your grey bumpers to the chrome or sport?

i wanted a 4x4, so i got another 09. this time around, i only changed the muffler out with a magnaflow to reduce restriction and a better tone. still punches like new if not better...
removing the y pipe will improve h/p and over all mpg, as for back pressure, the y pipe is making a bit of back pressure, at the expense of a free flowing ex, staying with a max of 2.5 inch for ex pipe size is safe bet, any larger and tahn you will have issues.

I removed the y pipe on my 06 2500 Ram with the the hemi and it monsterd up the truck and woke up my mileage, I have had issues blowing out muflers ( dyno max, mangnaflow ) now I'm running two free flowing muflers made by a local mufler shop.

My truck is a 6sp, so torque never has been a issue and if a loss of back pressure is a problem, gearing down will solve it .

Hate to butt in your post. I didn't see what cab you had on your truck. Im wanting to buy the magnaflow exhaust system. I cant figure out which kit fits the 5.7" bed (Crew Cab).

I saw the mention of the 16870 version, just wanted to confirm this before i made a purchase.

I also saw the posts about the AFE exhaust setup. Anyone have a favorite between the 2?

I hear ya, I'm not trying to debate the issue at all. Just wanted to share my story since I have first hand knowledge considering I've had both the single and dual 09 rams.

I've come to conclude that the exhaust is mainly for looks and tone, changing pipes whether it be X or Y won't be enough hp/tq to cost ratio. If you're looking for a quick hp/tq, diablo tuner is the way to go.

I changed them to chrome, there are pics in my profile. I still have to post the pics of the old and new exhaust and bumper comparisons though.
