Default USB Error

I have an 09 Laramie, loaded to the gills. I tried to put a thumb drive into the USB port to load music and pictures on the the HDD and it threw up an error - incompatible USB etc. etc. - So I bought a new thumb drive and got the same error. Dealer wants me to come in but I was hoping to avoid that. Anyone had success with their USB ports - anyone had the same problem?? And how did you get past it?

Much appreciated,

Matt

I read somewhere that you cannot have different types of media on the thumb drive at the same time. Not positive on that one. Never used my usb.

Weird, but I'll certainly give it a try. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for the tip.

I have other things on my thumb drive, but I pulled all of the music (mp3's and jpeg's) out of their folders in to the main part of the thumb drive. I still get the error and nothing works. Do I need a software update??

I had an issue with mine.

I had pics and music on it and it would not upload.

I had to do each on their own.

Try that.

Try and FORMAT the USB thumb drive, that may be the issue.
