Default Ticking Gone

Had same problem, took it to dealer and they said it was Hemi noise, mechanical lifters, would go away. It disappeared at around 1000 kms.

Default ticking is maybe fuel issue

was just running reg. 87 octane, finally was thinking to see what grade was called for and they suggest 89 octane so iswitched and it did quiet it down some. Will give it time.anyone else not using mid-grade 89?

My 2010 doesn't tick, but then again its not a hemi. Was cheaper to get the regular 8cyl, however, my 04, 07 and my 08 all had hemis and ticks.

Cool ticking solved

well took back to dealer for leaky windshield washer bottle and lumbar issue, listened to engine and they said it sounds serious (DUH.. what i suggested before) well it's in the shop for a push rod. thus the problem is being addressed.

Default Annoying tick

I have the same tick in my '08 Hemi and I had it my '05 Hemi. Only noticeable at warm idle. I hope that the 2010 I plan on buying soon does not have this tick.

Oh my god I didn't want to say it but I was told by several techs to not use synthetic oil.Something to do with MDS. I have been told that this engine likes 5w20 regular oil kept clean and stock filter even stock air and spark plugs. Maybe they realize it's their job but doesn't matter I would stilll bring my own oil and have them do it or use the plugs I bring as long as they will cover me under warranty, can't see why not. I know they can't be making that much markup on parts. Especially since I get 15 percent off as retiree. In fact recently our Avenger got a 2800 dent at least I thought it was a dent but behind that dent is all kinds of plastic, headlight, horn, windshield washer pump, rad cradle....man that was BS. The body shop was a bit pissed when they had to redo the bill and subtract 15 percent of the large part bill. Then it was oh we forgot this and that, wound up still in my favour. They did a good job and clean so that is what matters lifetime warranty on the parts and labour for what they did.
Sorry to get off track

Default tick sounded like a lifter tick

they did say it was a lifter so they did that route first, but it was a push rod. You can notice left side of vehicle. It also wasn't a faint one
