I would ditch the step rails if you are getting serious about off-roading. You'll get hung up on them. Sliders are more practical and welded to the frame as I did for my Xterra. I frequently lift the entire truck by the slider.
I had an old CJ-5 that was setup the same way.

hehe....I have serious VADD issues....lol. I think I just got burned out driving lifted trucls which have been my last 6 vehcles (1 Tahoe Z71, 3 Ford F150 4x4s, 1 Ford F250 4x4, and my Dodge Ram 1500 4x4). I just sold my '09 F150 FX4 that I modded out nicely:

Just bought a VW Touareg with the 4-corner air suspension and 4.2L V8 fully loaded with leather, navigation, camera, etc. as a change of pace (and the fact I can actually go trailing with my buddies in their Jeeps and FJs but in a lot more comfort). But that won't last long as I have my eye on either the new 2011 Ford Raptor Supercrew with the +400 HP 6.2L V8 when it comes out, or the new Dodge Ram 1500 Crewcab Outdoorsman 4x4 (which I think replaces the TRX4).
I saw the new 2011 Dodge Power Wagon and thought it was pretty sweet too!
Decisions...decisions,

I like the Power Wagon, but last I checked, it only comes with cloth and manual HVAC. For me, in TX, ATC is a big must for a daily driver.
The new Wrangler has a new interior for 2011 I think - was thinking about picking one of those up in addition to my SD. Too bad they don't have a Brute conversion with the Hemi from Chrysler....
