Frustrated
So I got the recall letter for the temp sensor and decided to bring my truck to the stealership. Letter said it should take an hour so when I made the appt I told them I'd wait for it. I hate the thought of leaving my truck there all day. So when I drop it off this morning they tell me that there are some rapid responses they want to take care of also. Will take a bit longer. Be ready by around 11. So I get a lift home. By 3:00 no call from the dealer. I call and leave a message. Get a call back at 4:25 telling me "Sorry, the part we need for the recall wasn't in stock. We won't have it until tomorrow. We'll get it done first thing" Arrrggggg!! How the heck didn't they know they didn't have the part when I dropped it off????? I hate the $%&* stealership!!! Sorry for the vent but I figured you guys would understand. No wonder they're going out of business!!!
I actually get along and like the dealerships I have used. I have found the service personnel to be helpful, especially on warranty issues. Should have the service advisor called sooner, yes. I can understand your frustration. I have experienced with other trades (plumbers, electrians, doctors, dentists) and yes, even independant mechanics. Talk to the service advisor or GM. Maybe they can componsate you some way.
