ya mine is the chrysler contract warranty, covers 5000 parts or something. $2990 seems close to the price you were quoted 1970Duster440.
Turk1270 I did call one other local dealer and they wanted $200 more then the price I paid as their best deal. In Canada they think we are rich I think lol
anymore people from Canada have prices in this neighborhood? Wish I could get the US lifetime warranty , but I cannot.

Or perhaps I would be better off buying the warranty just before the 3yr/60k basic is up, I didnt realise I could do that. Then at least they are not holding onto my money for 3 years for nothing. hmmm

Yeah the dealer told me I had to buy it before the 3/36 ran out. The only thing is I know the price will go up even if I only wait a year. Another salesman told me they could sell me a extended warranty and base it on the estimated mileage per year for X number of years. So that it won't cost as much overall. It would end up be like the 3/36 except you could base it on the number of years and/or mileage. Thats probably what I will look into first since I've had my truck 9 months and just rolled over 7000 miles.

I just bought my truck in Alberta and I opted to buy a 4 yr warranty good until 130000 kms (or 4yrs). The cost was $2600 plus interest as I financed it and I chose to buy it considering the cost of repairs due to a major malfunction. Engine/tranny and other drivetrain parts are still under factory warranty but my warranty covers parts+labour for other things like brake calipers/tierods/fuel pumps/hubs/etc... With the price of labour here at dealers it makes sense to buy a warranty($125+/hr)and with a $100 deductible if I need a new hub at $300 I will gladly pay the $100. if I dont use the warranty over the term, some or most of it will be refunded or can be used as a rebate for another vehicle.

The extended warranty is also 3rd party so Dodge dealers wont bitch about doing the work, actually they will be more than happy to do it.

OOPS double posted by mistake. I tried to stop a loading page to edit....

I will call the dealer tomorrow to see how much the warranty goes up by if I wait 1-3 years to purchase it and post back. Thanks for all the info so far!

I paid 2200 Canadian for 6 year no deductible bumper to bumper except the stuff that runs out in a year like brakes, bulbs, etc. It give warranty to things that expire in the 3 year period and even the ones in the 5 years period..There was not 7 year option at the time.

That is a lot of money for 4 years, you get 5 years power train anyway without extra.

Talked to 2 different dealers today, one dealer said there would be a small surcharge if I was to buy the warranty later down the road before the 3yr/60 basic expires. The other dealer said there is no surcharge but you do pay what the going rate is on the warranty for that year, which would likely be higher, and that makes sense.

I purchased my 09 SLT, Crew Cab, with Ram box, 4X4 in July.

The bumper to bumper chrysler 100,000 mile warranty was $1,700.00 from the dealer.
