I actually mounted my disc just above the lighter socket on the driver's side. angle that sucker up and walla! Looks great and allows for a clean looking install.

 

I thought I would post an update on the Garmin disc not sticking to my dash.

After having it not stick on my Ram dash, I mounted it to the dash of an old Civic to see if it would stick, and it did, really well. I then pried it off of that dash and left it face up on my workbench. After a few days of working on other stuff the Garmin disc now had some dust, more fingerprints, a little dog hair, etc. Then I used it to test fit the location of another disc I was going to screw into place. I placed it on the dash, went to answer the phone, and when I got back it was stuck. I pried on it but it won't budge.

It's been supporting my GPS for a few days now and is holding well.... very strange. I guess it works better when it's dirty.
