goodyear duratrac?
im looking at getting new tires very soon, i was going to get the tried tested and true bfg at's, but i saw that goodyear has these duratrac's out and they LOOK better, does anyone have any experience with them whether they ARE any good. they are also cheaper. primarily concerned about tread life and snow on concrete performance. i know the bfg's are radials, not sure if the goodyears are. do radials tend to last longer? any and all info is appreciated.
i found this guy talking about them.. sounds like he likes them a little.. i might have to look into these tires instead of the ones i originaly wanted..

i would like to go to a 12.50 but i'm not changing my rims right now.. and everyone says the 12.50's rub with stock rims... thought about a 305/55R20 but it's just as wide.. since seeing this thread i have been looking at the duratracs.. they seem like a pretty good all around tire and i can get it in a 275/65R20 for around $270.. same width and an inch taller than stock.. works for me for right now.. way cheaper to buy online than go to the local goodyear shop in town..

Most guys I know with the Goodyears say they would never get them again. If budget minded, then as Renos suggests, the Generals are a great deal. Almost an identical tread pattern than the BFGs but at a fraction of the cost! Also, most people "in the industry" say the Generals have a slightly harder compound than the BFGs and last about 20% longer. Also tough to beat a Firestone Destination in an inexpensive, mild A/T.
Personally in an A/T I'm a big fan of the Nitto Terra Grapplers. A lot of my huntin' fishin' buddies have them. I recently put a set on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 and they are fairly aggressive but very quiet. Wouldn't put a set on my truck, where I feel I need a true "Mudder", but on a daily driver and mild weekend off-roader, they are ideal...

had those on my wifes 07 Chevy pickup... i didn't drive it enough to really decide one way or the other but she said she loved them.. those are probably the tires i would get if i wasn't going for more of an off road tire.. right now i am undecided between the Dick Cepek FC-II and now these Duratracs.. the duratracs have the size that better fits my truck (without lifting it or changing rims) so they will probably be my choice....
