Anyone try installing the trailer brake controller for a 2010 on a 2009? Is this possible? I have the part number for the 2010 1500. There is also a bezel to mount on the lower left part of the dash.

On the 2010, it will display errors on the EVIC so I'm not sure if it would be plug and play and work without a computer flash or if it would need one that probably does not exist.

 

Well, I wanted to order that for my 2010 but it wouldn't be available until Jan so I deleted it from my order. Anyways, my rep for military sales contacted a dodge service manager about it to see if I could get the factory controller installed at a later date and was told that it couldn't be done since it wasn't originally ordered on the truck and I would just have to get an aftermarket type.

I don't know if that service manager knew what he was talking about so when I take delivery of my truck, I will inquire about it.

As for the 09, not sure if it will work...but I'm sure others will chime in.

 

It does need a flash that does not currently exist. No word yet as to if it will be available.
