Default 2009 Towing vs 2010 Towing Capacity

I know that Dodge increased its towing capacity of the 2010 Ram with no modifications so I decided to look up my 09 truck on Dodge.com as if it were a 2010 to see exactly what the towing capacity would be. I have the 4x4 Laramie with Hemi, 3.92 and 20 inch tires and its saying that the 2010 has a towing capacity of 9,750 lbs. Am I missing something or is it safe to assume that since there are no modifications that the 2009 should be rated the same as the 2010?

My 2009 SLT Hemi with 17" tires and 3.21 is rated at 5700
Same truck as a 2010 is rated at 5650

We'll I've heard no mention of them retroactivly certifying the 09's with the higher ratings, and if they had, I'd suspect they would have modified the ratings charts in the 2009 section of that body builders guide you linked to. So my guess would be officially no, but since they have officially said they made no changes from 2009 to 2010, I don't think anyone would argue the fact that the new ratings are accurate and applicable. I've always wondered about the legalities if someone said you were over the weight of your posted door sticker. Probably an extremely unlikely scenario though.

It's a pretty big difference though. In my case, a full 2,000 lbs (6,300 to 8,300)

Yeah my jumps 2,550 lbs. I don't really NEED the extra capacity but it would be nice know its there.
