Any power mods for the 4th gen. hemi
Yes I'm a newbe but I would like to know whats out there that works for the 5.7 hemi. I'm not a stranger to power mods because I've been in the ford camp for a while with a 04 svt cobra and just got rid of a twin turbo 08 F-250 ect. Exhaust, programers, SC KITS? As for NOS lol I'm leaveing it alone because I use to much of it now for my race cars.
There are programmers, intakes, and exhaust kits. www.airram.com probably has some more in-depth stuff such as cams. If not, it won't be long. If you want to s/c it, you will need a new transmission. Probably need that even with basic bolt-on stuff too. The tranny in these trucks is the weak link. If you get a Diablo tuner, go ahead and buy 5 or 6 of them to start... it got 4 bad ones in a row.

I am not sure about any tranny problems, i pull an enclosed trailer weighing 4500 pounds a few times a week and havent had any problems with my tranny.
as for mods i have a Airraid MXP cold air intake and Mufflex exhaust.

Straight line, the trans is fine. Downshift from a 55 mph roll and it will hit a fake second gear that grenades quite frequently if you believe the forum buzz. There are several aftermarket companies that make race transmissions, but they still rely on the stock TCM computer which will engage a different set of clutches for a different second gear. It will be stronger than stock, but still a problem that will not go away until a company comes out with a stand-alone TCM. Best bet is to try and put a 3/4 ton transmission in. They do not have such nonsense to deal with. Also, I have heard rumor of a 6spd that will replace the 545rfe in a few years. Maybe swap one of those in. I talked to a guy at Sheradon performance, and he said to try to avoid full throttle kick-downs. Wait until it downshifts, then put it to the floor. It's an issue with the Chrysler software, not the transmission itself.

As for programmers I CAN NOT recommend the Diablo, at least at this time. They seemed to have rushed it to market and it is far from perfect. Not cool considering you are putting it on your 30-45K truck!
