Default HID problem H-11 4 headlight model *Update*

As electrical problems are not my strong point I went on "Just answer" they said: The reason that one side works and not the other is purely poor manufacturing standards, usually on these trucks neither of the lights will work because the TIPM output for the standard headlights doesn't provide enough clean power to light an HID bulb, and if they do they flicker constantly, where as a standard bulb will light with any type of power whether it's fluctuating or not. If you look around the internet you'll find countless people who've had issues getting HID's working on rams since about 06(the 09 is the same electrically) There are a couple common fixes, I usually install a relay harness kit, they go for about $35 online. The other option many use is a capacitor harness that plugs in between the headlight harness and the HID ballast, which smooths out the power output, they're more expensive at around $55.
It's going to end up being a problem with the tipm not supplying enough power to the hid, whether it's because it's not sensing the correct resistance so it's not turning on the that driver or the driver just isn't able to supply enough current to ignite the HID, it's times like these i really really miss the systems that had an actual headlight switch, or at the least a relay instead of current limiting transistors. You can try getting the dealer to warranty out the TIPM, shouldn't be too difficult as they fail all the time, or install a relay kit on the right headlight harness.
I took it to my local custom shop for some help. the kit came with a wiring harness but this needed extra capacitors inline to trick the computer to supply the voltage for the HID bulb. In the end I got what I wanted installed for $110 including the HID kit, I am very happy as the difference is night & day from the standard candles! hope this helps everyone else in the same prediciment.

fitted fog & low beam HID's last night . The fog lights are OK but only the right (passanger side) HID will work?? the regular bulb will work on the left ( Drivers side) but not the HID?? I have tried both HID's on the right side & they both work?? Any ideas out there

Im having the same problem. The fogs work perfectly but the lows come on then the drivers side goes off. Ive been asking around with no answer that have worked yet. I'll post the solution when I figure it out.

Make SURE your battery is fully charged. If you have your hood up for more than 5 min, the battery voltage drops ever so slightly. It will mess with your HID lights.

Did your kit come with a capacitor to pull the extra 20 watts needed to prevent the computer from thinking there's a lamp out? The HID ballast are 35 watts and the stock low bulbs are 55.

After a couple of nagging problems like you are experiencing, I mounted a relay into the system and haven't had a problem since.

I'm having the exact same problem, drivers side will come on momentarily, then go off, and sometimes neither will come one and have to flick on and off till at least one headlight stays on. I have HI beams installed as well (9005) and they're problematic too.

I installed the wiring harness (direct to the battery) that came with my kid, but this didn't solve anything.

Talked to a place that installs HIDs, and they said Dodge's are a known issue (before 2009) and that their solution is to tie it to the engine wiring directly, so when the engine runs, the low beams are always on.

Not necessarily the best solution as i like the Automatic headlight feature, I've been calling into dealerships to see if any dodge mechanics can resolve this so far but not luck
