Homelink Programming Problems
So, has anyone else had any issues programming the homelink system? I've done this a million times before, but for some reason I cannot get any of my openers (I have 3 different ones) to sync up. I read the owners manual and the only thing it said was that if the truck is equipped with a security system, that it may need to be disabled but did not elaborate on how to accomplish it.
Anyone else have any issues? I feel like an idiot calling the dealer, but am beginning to suspect that there is something wrong with my homelink system.

It says "HomeLink is disabled when the Vehicle Security Alarm is active." This is to prevent someone from breaking into your truck and then pushing the buttons to gain access to your garage. So if you are physically in the truck, it does not apply.
My brother had to use the section about the rolling code. If you have an opener made after 1995, then this is probably what you will have to do. You actually have to press the button on the garage door opener motor. (His Ford was the same way so not unique to Dodge) It is best to have 2 people to do this as you only have 30 seconds to get from the opener motor to in the truck pressing buttons. Just read the instructions again and do them step by step. I'm sure it is just a simple misread as it can get a litle confusing.
One last thing, don't reference the "User's Guide". It doesn't go into enough detail to do this. You want to look in the Owners Manual starting on page 145. I have the download of it but yours is probably on the DVD/CD.

I had to call the 1-800 # in the manual, i too have done many different ones and got them to work easily. The number will get you a rep and will walk you through step by step and even trouble shoot with you on the phone. Took 10 mins to figure out my prob and get it programed.
ya my new opener would not work I had to scramble and try to put the old one back to gether it got run over by a truck or my wheel chair but it works if you hold a wire in the right place and push the button. Took 3 tries, kept slipping the wire off, can solder it too close to other stuff for me to do. Working now. Now trying to learn the voice commands for the radio and phone. My address book loaded from my phone I was surprrised since I read it does not with the REN in the manual..mine did. My wifes won't but mine did.
It's in the Owner's manual page 149. Even lists the website.
You tried pressing the button on the motor itself per page 148? You have to start on page 147 with Clearing the Channels though.
Are you gettting any messages on the EVIC?

Finally got it figured out for the rolling code opener... was missing the two step process of first training the remote then pressing the learn button on the opener and retraining. I was only doing one or the other, as this is the first that I've had to actually use the remote to train the system. Typically, you used to simply press the learn button, then hop back in and program the homelink button.
Still not getting my older style opener to train though... from what I can see, no rolling code button, only the opener. Going to run to the store to see if some new batteries will solve the problem.
So, the owners manual everyone keeps referring to... I did not get one, only a DVD. Anyone else with a 2010 get a paper manual? Sure would make life a lot easier to have a hard copy in the truck itself.

Your owner manual should have been handed to you with 2 sets of keys on delivery on it should be it the glove box or somewhere.
Now a lot of people confuse this owners manual with the Service Manual that you have to purchase from the dealer or go here Dodge%20Manual/Service%20manual/common/html/default.htm

I got mine working with 2 different garage doors, no problem. Neither one required pushing any buttons on the opener motor itself. One of them is the Liftmaster opener in my own house which is less than 5 years old.
