Does anyone know where the inlet is for the ventilation system is? I got in my truck yesterday afternoon and it smells like someone dumped their ashtray in my vents. I can't get the smell out. I don't know if I sucked up a cigarette butt. I've looked all over the engine compartment for the blower motor and can't find it. There is a slotted area at the back of the engine bay on the passenger's side just above the electrical junction block - could this be the air inlet?

 

That is it. It is just above the hood seal. I know this because I was spraying all kinds of stuff in there to stop the mildew smell in the AC system.

 

I sprayed some deodorizer in the vent slots and that seemed to take care of the problem. But it was weird how the smell just happened within a 15 minute period.
