Default What method is the best to level these trucks?

I have a 2WD ST model that came stock with 17's. I want to level the front but I was wondering what you guys where running out there and what was and wasn't working. I have heard some bad stories about spacers and was thinking of trying to find new springs to put up front. Also I will be putting stock 20's on it when it is all done. So if anyone has a set out there and lives near VA send me a message. I do not need tires as I do not want to put Goodyears back on the truck so rims only is what I am looking for, unless someone wants to trade then we can talk. Anyway any input on the leveling kit would be great. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year.

There is no solid factual information on what works or doesn't work. I would just suggest reading through the threads where the problems have been discussed. I will say I think the majority of the problems come from 4x4's so you may be in the clear with whichever kit.

Anyone out there using the Bilstein 5100 leveling kit? If so how do you like it and how does it ride?

Just remember that leveling the truck affects it in a couple different ways. Although many say its not much, its worth considering. If you bring the front end up using most of the kits out there, you actually force more weight onto the back end as well. If you haul or tow, you are more prone to the back squatting. Or bottoming out. I put an ebay kit on front, hooked up my trailer, disconnected my trailer and took the kit off. Huge difference. I guess rear coils are a little touchier than old fashioned leaf springs. Since I use it for work I left it as it was.

I looked up the Bilstein kit, front and rear it may be a good option. But, I'll let someone else experiment before I commit. My trailers average 5k and I hate to be dragging a$$. Anyone use this kit?

Yeah my boat and trailer weighs 4000lbs so Dragging is a comcern on mine as well. I was out looking and measuring my wheels and wheel wells earlier to see about putting 20's on. Ultimately that is what I want to be able to do. I beleive that they would fit just fine, I am also thinking of putting 265/55/20 or 265/50/20 tires on the rims which would them be basically the same size I have now. I kinda want to go for the street rod look but I do not want the "Hey look at me I have now sidewall's on my tires" look. I think I will go to the tire store this week and see what those tires look like. Anyway I think I may back off the leveling thing but keep the bilstein option on the list, I ran bilstein shocks and struts on another truck and was very happy with it.

For 2wd the only thing I found was the day star 1.5" front leveling kit. About a $40 part that did the job perfectly. I have had it on the truck for a few months now and its the perfect solution to leveling the truck. Did ddnot change the ride one bit but the truck sits so much more stout then before. I wish they made the 2.5 front and 1.5 rear for the 2wd so I could get a little more hight, but oh well, this worked.

Personally thinking that huge wastes of money going out there and I have heard of a couple guys are here got the levelling kit done and then had a ball joint issue and would not cover under warranty with 1000 km's . Dealer says levelling kit of possibly the installer damaged the ball joint.
