Default Warranty - Required Service

There has been a lot of talk about factory warranty and aftermarket service contracts requiring service records when making a claim for covered repairs.

So...I'm looking for a vehicle specific computer spreadsheet to log all my DIY service work and reference parts and material receipts.

Anybody seen something like that?

You could probably whip something up on excel in just a few minutes.

I agree. I made one up in excel. Since a lot of the maintance items repeat, once you get the stuff entered up to 36K, its copy paste. Had a sheet for notes, sheet for oil filter changes and one for maintance. Basically copied the owners manual schedule with columns for date, service mile interaval service mile months, mileage when actual done, cost and who did it. Of course I keep all receipts in a folder and also make notes in the owners manual maintance log.

Keep the receipts should be good enough unless there is a speciality story that goes with something then put a note with that receipt? Seems easier that way, never been asked for receipts knock on mdf. LOL
If you have the time to be that organized like I do you think I would, very fluent in Excel just not interested in all that work.

I really don't want to see how much it is costing me everytime I look at the spread sheet. All those oil changes and maintainance items add up. Makes ya sick.

Send me an email at psdtoddmxz at yahoo dot com and I will send ya the excel sheet I use for all my toys.....pretty basic, but it works out great!

And then I have a folder in my file cabinet to keep all the receipts.

Just remember that to keep the lifetime warranty active, a dealer has to sign off on it every 5 years. Says the inspection is no charge.
