If you are capable of doing the work yourself, that is the cheapest way to replace plugs. If you can't or don't want to, my experience is to check prices at a good garage. They generally are cheaper than dealerships. My experience, dealerships may match garage prices on some things (oil changes) and not others (tune ups). Vehicles use to have to be tuned up every 12K miles. Now its 30K or greater between any significant tuneups. While tuneup cost may seem high, its not to bad when you check the cost/miles driven.

I don't work at a dealership nor have any interst in one. The rates they charge may be high, but I feel in many cases the charge is in line with other trades. Call a plumber to replace a faucet and see what they will quote you. Call a "handy-man" and it will be less. Do it your self, your out the price of the part. What is great, if you don't like the price quoted, we have the ability to go somewhere else.

No problem. That why I chuckle everytime I see someone complaining about dealer prices. It is obvious.

If my dealer will do it for 300 I suppose I can stomach that. I read that changing plugs in the hemi is a real PITA so I want to avoid it. Its just frustrating to find out that I have to spend an extra 300-400 bucks on this thing every year.

I have been going to this garage for some stuff on my old chevy and trying to get a relationship going with this garage. They seem good so far, I told them I had a new Ram and it sucked that it had 16 plugs and they are hard to get at. He said awe not that bad just a couple hours. Their rate is like 70 an hour opposed to over 100 an hour at the dealer, do we have to Starscan when puttinng new plugs in LOL.
I figure 140 plus what 100 or less for plugs depending on what I get, think I will go with factory style when I do mine, we will see as it gets closer. Gonna be 3 years from now at the rate we put mileage on. March is one year..we have 6000 KM's on it LOL

I did my 05 and it was EASY. I put a blanket on the front cross member, then sat on it, basically sitting in the engine bay. Took me an hour. I put in the same plugs that came with the truck, so I was in for about $35 and an hour of my time.

With the 4th GEN that may be harder to do, but I am sure it is possible. Not sitting in there will make it hard to reach in and get at all the plugs unless you are VERY tall or stand on something, but even then it is still a "pain the in the back".

I do not think underneath with the Hemi plugs would be easier.
