i bought a k&n air filter and want to put it in. i am very good at breaking things so I want to be sure before I do that i am doing this right.

I unhooked all the clips and there only seems to be clips on 3 sides of the box. where the air comes in i dont see any on that side. the box does not want to lift up easily and I dont want to force it. am i doing this wrong?

 

Mine popped right off, and yes, 3 clips they barely look like the fold far enough back to take the lid off.

 

might need to give it a bit of a tug. mine was sealed well. un hook the intake tube too so your not working against that.

 

in the back there are slots that match up, you have to kind of push the assembly back a little. getting them back on and lined up is also a bit tricky, not the easiest housing to remove but I got it.
