30k a year isn't super uncommon. Back when I worked at a dealership, I did meet a woman once who put 38k on her minivan in less than 6 months. I asked her how she accomplished that and she said they were in the middle of relocating about a thousand miles away and had to keep commuting back and forth a lot for various family and work related things. Guess she must hate flying more than I do. Personally, I have averaged about 9k a year for the last 10 years. Benefit of smaller towns I guess.

30,000 may not be that uncommon but I leased my last truck and would have took it in the shorts big time if I didn't buy it out. Most leases figure average driving at 12,000 miles per year. If I didn't drive 3,000 miles a month for work maybe I could get by at 12,000 but then I couldn't afford such a nice truck either.
