Default Which Ram should I Consider?

Hi everyone,

Considering a new Ram 1500. I had a Hemi Magnum for a few years, but sold it recently.

I'd like to get the TRX package as I'm intending on going off-roading the odd time.

Problem is I really want leather interior, but it's not available in the TRX package.

I'd consider going with a Laraime, but I'm not sure what I'll be sacrificing in regards to offroad options not going with the TRX. If it's just shocks and skidplates, I'd go with the Laraime, and add those later.

As usual, my salesman looked at me with a blank face when I asked him this question.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
Tony

You can get skidplates and tow hooks on the laramie or SLT but not on the sport. I absolutely had to have to have the sport, so I have tow hooks and skid plates on order that I will install myself. You can make whatever you want work, I dont like the looks of the TRX package much myself so I would go with the laramie and just get the tow hooks + skid plates as an option. The TRX 4 has smaller wheels, fender flares and stiffer shocks - I believe that is the extent of the differences. Also remember that the Laramie comes with AWD, 4Hi, and 4Lo but all others only have 4Hi and 4Lo unless you have an Early 09'. I would have liked to have had the AWD as well, so that would be a key item for me. Good Luck!

Thanks for the note, I wasn't aware about it.

Going to look into it.

I have an Nov. 08 built 09 Laramie 4x4, came with skid plates and tow hooks (only wish the hooks were chrome or stainless), Love the truck especially the elect. 4x4 option, I would personally go with the Laramie, if you want the flares get the two color option, and add the biltsteins later on either choice, wouldn't care for any oem shocks as it is, biltstiens are in my future.
