Default Lets talk Exhaust fellas

Im itching for exhaust now that my truck looks the way I want it too. I have had a large experience with putting mufflers on Fords, but not dodges. What type of set ups have you guys used work for you? I was thinking cat back, single inlet, dual outlet muffler, maybe some 4 x 18 inch SS tips, with a Flowmaster muffler. The only thing that worries me about the flowmaster is the interior drone. My brother has an 05 dodge ram hemi, and boy he has run like 3 different mufflers. The two flowmaster mufflers he had (40, 44) were a major drone fest. His magnaflow was nice and quite inside, but was way too soft exterior.. So I think I am ruling out maganflow..but if anyone has ran a maganflow or something comprobable, please tell me how it sounds

I have a mufflex 18" magnaflow and I'm happy with it. Only time I notice the drone to be bad is when MDS kicks in. The drone gets worse with the 14" but it has a more aggresive sound. Do you have stock duals? I heard the flowmaster 50 is nice too.

I have the 14" mufflex magnaflow and man i love it! it sounds super aggresive and still not a lot of drone! I think you could run pretty much anything on these trucks and stay away from the drone. The rear exit exhaust helps out alot with drone.

My borla is very aggressive but when it shifts into overdrive I can't hear it.

Magnaflow all the way. The only time I hear any drone is with MDS kicking in. The system is also rather simple to install.

Totally agree, I love my Flows. If you do a search for a member called sneeks, he posted a pretty detailed swap from single to duals.....Kevin.

Thanks guys for your opinions and testimonials. However, I decided to go with my gut instinct and went with Flowmaster. Knowing me, I just need that gargling chambered noise a flowmaster produces. The muffler is 3" inlet, dual 2.5" inch outlets. I chose some 18" x 3.5" inch rolled edge stainless steel tips to go under neath the bumper. The kit is being performed customily on Monday, 2-1-10. I am super excited to hear how this hemi will make a flowmaster bark

Overall I agree, Borla is better made than Magnaflow, but for a Borla catback its $1,000, the Magnaflow I purchased was $534 shipped. Borla is not twice as better than Magnaflow.JMHO..........Kevin.

Oh I agree, i would not spend 1000 bucks for an exhaust system. I just bought the muffler. I didnt mean to sound like an a** either.
