detroit truetrac install question.
I want to put a detroit truetrac in my 09 ram hemi QC,2wd .I dont currently have a LSD posi and I need to know what parts I will need besides the truetrac.I'm keeping my stock gearing. Thanks for any help.
What you really need is a well recommend installer that does rear ends regularly. The backlash is critical. Went through 2 rears on my Blazer before finding a 4wd shop that does them on a regular basis.
You might want to see if your installer would rather use a certain brand part. Some rear end and tranny guys are like that, they know what works and what doesnt. Before you throw money at parts I would check that out.
Good luck man.
I put a Richmond Gears, Powertrax No-Slip Traction System into my chevy that had one wheel peel, man it feels like I got 100 more HP, The traction is phenomenol. I does clunk a bit like a locker once in a while on corners but doesn't bug me. It was the most bang for the buck. They have them for 4x4's I guess a lot of JEEP guys use them. It was basically take out the spider gears and replace them with this unit. I don't know how the axles work on the dodges or if they have one for this truck yet.
