Bedliner for Rambox
I had a linex in my 99 QC. It works great and I consider it to be one of the best add ons I did. I have decided on the 09 to wait for the bed to get a little scratched up, where it's looking bad, then have the linex done. Since they scuff the bed before spraying anyway I can hold on to my $'s for awhile longer while I scuff it up naturally. I will have it sprayed at the point I start seeing some surface rust that way they will sand off the surface rust then the linex will stop any further rusting. I too do get the drop in liner craze anymore. A friend had one on his GMC that was installed at the dealer when he bought the truck. About a year later he noticed a little rust spot on the bed rail just at the edge of the liner. He took the liner out to touch it up and man the whole bed was solid rust underneath. It looked worse than it was but because it was in there at the beginning there were no deep gouges that would rust thru. He cleaned it up best he could and had the rhino lining sprayed in. I realize the drop ins are less expensive but to me they are not a long term solution. The linex in my 99 is now 11 years old and other than some fading and a little spilled paint is still perfect. One thing I will say about the spray ins though is be careful of who you get to do it. Mine was done very well. All the bolts removed and drain holes plugged before spraying, my brother had his ford done with rhino and it looked like hell and every bolt was covered as well as the drain holes. **** poor job and he paid more because at the time rhino had been out for awhile and linex was just getting started.
