Default Rust problem and only 2 Months old

Anyone having this problem....im leaving work today, walking to my truck in the parking lot and i notice something on my front bumper. i go to wipe it off and notice its rust. i look around the entire front bumper and at every spot where the bolts are there is a spot of rust and its creeping downwards. also noticed its around the plastic where the tow hooks go(not installed on my truck). its a 2010 SLT crew cab and its only 2 months old. thats crazy imo

I had a 1998 Dakota with a painted black bumper that a bug would cause a rust spot, I got it changed like 4 times in a year since I was on the highway a lot, Finally they took the bumper sanded it properly prepared it and painted it a tad shiny for me but now the rust problem went away. I was considering getting it powdercoated but they would not pay for that then the decided to paint it themselves otherwise I would get another piece of crap.

Default Bumper Rust

I had a '07 Ram 1500 it had bumper rust after 6 mths. I now have a '09 Ram 2500 and it too has bumper rust after about 5 mths!!! I have spoke with my local dealership where I purchased both my trucks and the body shop manager has agreed he'd be willing to replace the bumper(s) but only once, and that the new bumper will likely do the same thing. The issue is that the chrome plating on the bumper is VERY thin and the body shop manager stated to me that early rust is a continual complaint and until Dodge thickens up the bumpers it will continue to be an issue. In the mean time he gave me a bottle of Mopar Chrome polish which did take off all my surface rust and cleaned the bumper up well. I also informed my salesman what the body shop manager said because I'm going to wait another year or so and then if the rust is getting worse then I'll replace the bumper. Another fella he replied to an earlier post I made on here and suggested asking the dealership if they would swap out the bumpers for painted ones and then throw 3M stone gaurd on the front one to reduce stone chips? Sounds like a possible fix.....

BossMan - I suggested that, and plan on testing that theory... I also purchased mud flaps out of my pocket to protect the rear bumper, and show them that i'm doing my part, and hopefully they will do theirs... I will let you know, how it goes tuesday...
