Default 2009 Ram Nitrous?

Hello i just came across a nos set and was wondering if id be crazy to put it on my 2009 dodge ram 1500? I have the 5.7 hemi quad cab. I have the airaid full intake and the diablo tuner with a magnaflow ex. It is set up for a 100 shot i didnt no if that would just kill the whole drive train or if i had a custom tune for it, would it be ok? Any thoughts please tell me im crazy or tell me that be SWEET!!!

If you do not care about warranty work and have reserve $$ standing by go for it.

^+2.
Do what you want. But, I would bet your warranty would be voided. If you don't own the truck outright (meaning your making payments), I don't think I would want to void the warranty.

The nitrous kit should come with everything you need. Including a custom tune and cooler spark plugs. I wouldn't expect the tranny to last very long cause it's such a hard hit.

Would the tranny do better with the nitrous at WOT or with a button?

You need to be at WOT when u hit the switch so the stress on the tranny would be the same. Now if u had like a 2 stage system like a 50 shot for the first then another 50 for the second stage, that would be less of a shock then 100hp at once.

That is what I meant. I guess I did not give that option. Nitrous would I imagine say adios to the warranty, but if you are that into it why not build a 440 up and get maybe a 800 hp motor and stick that under the hood for racing and keep the hemi for getting groceries LOL

Your diablo tune is likely pushing the timing limits already, too...you would need to retard some or run the oem program on premium fuel. Plugs are also going to help with detonation, but if you got a custom tune on a 100shot you would probably be ok with the stockers. A progressive controller would aid in reducing the "hit" some, but the trans is going to suffer between shifts regardless. I have no problems with using nitrous, but I wouldn't recommend it for the Ram. Too much weight/rotating mass...alot of hp is going to break things easier than on a car.
