Is all i need to get is the HSB unit or is there anything else I need to look for ?all i am looking for is the ren with ipod controls and dvd .please help if u can I have found a bunch just want to get the right one
For iPod integration with the REN, you will also need to buy the iPod integration kit which comes with the UConnect Bluetooth module (which is what controls the iPod) and the iPod cable. At that point, you may as well get the microphone, too, and have hands-free BT cell phone usage. I'm not sure, but I don't *think* the iPod integration kit comes with the microphone.
As far as I know, that's it.
Of course, if you're getting a REN, you might want to have Sirius satellite radio, too. For that, I think you would need to also get a sat radio antenna kit. I think the sat radio tuner is built into the REN, but I'm not sure. There might be a whole sat tuner and antenna kit that you would need.
Or you could get an RER, which has the UConnect stuff built in and would also give you navigation. For that, you'd just need a high speed RER, the GPS antenna, which mounts in the dash behind the radio, and the iPod cable that connects directly to the back of the RER. And a sat radio antenna, if you wanted that.
That said, I'm glad to have the REN and use a separate Garmin for navigation. Way cheaper. Way more flexible.
