Default Bed Light Button

Okay so I am trying to figure out if it is possible to wire additional lights to the light switch in the cab for the bed lights. (The lights surrounding the third brake light) Has anyone thought or tried to do this?

I wired in a set of the Recon LED bed lights and they work great. No problems.

from what ive read, these instructions show how to wire so that they come on with the interior lights of the cab.
its supposed to be the cargo lights of the bed, but it isnt.

I looked up the connector they are using and you are 100% correct. So that will not work.

There is a 46 pin connector under the dash on the left side. It has the cargo lamp driver lead. Should be WT/TN in color. You can also pick it up where it goes down to the floor via the left rear pillar. Or the 10 pin C1 plug on the back of the instrument cluster. Haven't personally done this so it would be best to review the connectors in a Service Manual but those are 3 locations you can get the power from.
