Default Lockpick V 2.5

Has anyone tried the latest version of Lockpick (2.5) It can be upgraded via usb as the Allgig?

I am considering trying it can get it with all the cables on ebay for 189 plus shipping. I just don't want to be a guinea pig I am too poor.

I just got it and am having it installed (nearby audio electronics dealer will help me as he has all the right tools) on Tuesday next week and will report back on how it works. I have a spare USB cable with a mini-usb at the end (pretty common cable used for digital cameras, etc.) that I'm going to have the run into the glovebox or just leave tied up under the dash where i can get to it easily for future updates.

I don't see a version 2.5 on their website. Make sure its legit before you purchase.

I ordered to V2 from the coastaltech website and a v2.5 just showed up instead. While the front page of the website doesn't mention the v2.5, there is a section on usb updates which does. go figure

Does installing lockpick void the warranty on the mygig?

Most likely if its there when you take it in. It can be removed in 15 minutes, installed in the same time unless you are adding cameras and stuff. Looks like pretty much the same installation, no special tools needed. Hardest part is taking the console trim ring off.

I noticed now they are advertising the Lockpick 2.XX so maybe unless you specify you get the old one, I will call them when i am ready but I can't help wondering why there is one Buy It Now brand new for 189 on Ebay with the video cable. Yet Coastal wants way more. Maybe they fronted Coastal the dough to rebuild and they got paid in equipment? Who knows maybe they are BS but they tell you look out for illegit and they go on to tell you about the new shape etc. and be sure to get that.
