Ok, so i am looking to lift my truck once my tax return comes in. i would love to go with a 6" to be sure to fit 37" tires, but am more than likely going wit hthe 4" MOPAR to keep my warranty. my question for you 6" lifters........ how in the HELL were you able to get the guts enough to go with the 6" knowing that it will void the warranty on the truck if something goes wrong? that alone is scaring me into the 4". i am not meaning this to sound negative at all, cuz of the 6" lifts i have seen pics of on here, they look sick!!! just dont know how someone can take that drastic of a chance on having to spend more dollars down the road to fix something that went wrong that is no longer covered by the warranty.

fyi..... i had a couple of Dodge guys from the shops tell me that the 09 rams dont do good over 4" lift. that it really wears down the front end. granted, they could just be saying that to keep me in their MOPAR, but is it worth the risk t ocall the bluff? just dont want to make a decision i will regret later on, ya know?

 

4" is the only way to fly especially if you get to keep your warranty. i think super lift struck gold with this manufacturing deal!!

 

PFFFF warranty! who cares! it only voids warranty on suspension components and the suspension companies usually have better warranties than the manufacturers anyway!

 

You're lift company will warranty all the stock parts of the suspension if they wear fast? Not likely. All the angles that have changed will wear parts faster, that is a given. If you are ok replacing them sooner then needed. Go for it. Moog has a great warranty on the parts you replace, other then labour so do it yourself.


Also remember, that if your tranny fails and you are running 37" tires, they can choose to not warranty it as it is a known fact that large tires are harder on suspension and driveline. If your stereo fails, you are fine. They can only not warranty parts affected by what you have done. Suspension lifts can cause warranty issues with all suspension/shock related issues. Rear end issues, u-joints, trannsmisions and even some engine issues. It is a risk, you just need to decide if it is worth it to you.


I went with a Dodge lift installed by them because I have no faith in ANY new vehicle made today. Bought the extended warranty and want to keep it good.




Now my motorbike on the other hand, I so far, in one year, have voided the warranty on the suspension, frame, exhaust, transmision, brakes, engine and everything electrical. But it was worth it!!!

 

That is what i did too. i bought the warranty to cover everything else for the life of the vehicle. and that is a major reason i am leaning more towards just the 4" MOPAR lift.

 

I don't believe in warranty any more, they will make you pay for it one way or another... Oh and we not only pay a lot more for our vehicles in Canada but we didn't get the lifetime warranty option either.

 

yeah, who cares, its just money, i can always work for more. doesnt bother me, this is the way i want my truck to look, thats all that matters

 

The hard part is the cost diff...

6" installed almost equals the cost of the 4" alone.

I'm still up in the air about it, but i'm leaning towards the 4" for peace of mind...

 

You know the answer....

I give it a week after getting the 4 and you'll be wishing for the 6. Why not have the best, how often do these trucks break down anyway? If anything, the most you'll be spending is a couple grand for fixes way down the road. Get what you want, no regrets Marine.

 

What makes 6" the best? in my opinion the 4" is a better design.
