Default Exterior Mirrors

I just bought myself a 2009 Ram 1500 TRX 2wd.. I got a pretty good deal on the truck, however it's got the plain black, heated, power mirrors and I want the ones with the turn signals and lights in them. I did a quick search and was able to find a set in great shape, only I don't know if it's going to work with my truck. Can I just plug these in and the turn signals and everything work?

I called the local dealership and they didn't know crap, and told me they had no such chrome mirrors available... lol... so much for that. Sooo, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

They don't sell them as an accessory, only come OE on some models. Chances are good that it'll require a starscan change - everything else does.

What's a starscan change? Soo no ideas if they will just plug and play so to speak?

It has nothing to do with starscan. You will have to unplug your factory mirror and check to see if you have the wires running to the plug for your needs. Take a test light and check all the functions of the plug, turn signal, running lights etc. If you have all the wires and voltage for the functions you want, then you should be good.

+1 on sking.

if you don't have the wires already ran (in the factory plug for the model you have), you'd have to run additional wires for them to work properly. Such as separate wires for your turn signals, wires for parking lights/running lights.

Ok, I have the mirrors with the blinkers and lights on them. I want to do a little something different which would require me to tap into the led lights on the mirror. I was told on this forum that I have to make sure it dosen't run through a can bus. So would that go into affect also if you change out the mirrors?
