Default Rust spots in clear coat?

got some kind of rust colored junk in the clear coat of my truck. got light silver and you can see all over my hood and flat surfaces. you can scratch it off wit a finger nail but a wax job with a small hand buffer didnt do the trick? what do you guys think?

Could be rail dust or from a plow on the highway. When the weather breaks, use a claybar and it should come off.

its either rail dust or industrial fall out. we get a lot of the fallout in lower michigan because of the industry. silver is usually the easiest color to notice it.

yes. usually a professional power wax job etc. will take care of it...

How often do you wash it? Do you live near a foundry? When the Ford foundry was running full blast here, if you lived around it your car would get coated with dirt that would turn to rust. If you look closely around you can still see a car maybe tucked in a driveway or a house that nobody took care of still all orange from that.
