Weatherstripping Rusting???
Are you guys seeing rust on your weatherstripping? Sounds crazy but let me explain. One place is on the weatherstripping that is between the bed and cab. It has metal inside that forms and holds it to the lip on the bed. Well on the ends, the metal is exposed so it is rusting. On the weatherstripping around the door, the seam is right in the middle on the door sill. Again, rusting because the metal is exposed causing a nice rust streak down the door sill. I just don't ever recall this being an issue on past vehicles. Maybe the manf of the parts is using the cheapest steel they can find??? Or maybe in the past the ends were sealed and now they just use a roll and cut to length??

Yeah you could paint it but how many other vehicles have you had to do that to? This started pretty much when it was new. Never had the issue with any other vehicles in the past. And that is over a lot of years.
After seeing the countless threads on bumper rust, I can't believe that nobody noticed the rust streaks on their door sills from the seals.

The weatherstrip between the cab and bed did that on my 11/08 build truck, but my 06/09 build truck seems to have a rubber sealer applied on the top. I've not noticed the door molding rusting. I'll take a look.
