Default march truck month?

I test drove a big horn cc hemi and am about to order a sport or laramie qc 4x4 with the 3.92. First off wow. The sales guy did not come out with my finance and I. So I really opened it up and wow was I impressed. The accel on an uphill was most impressive and I can't wait for mine. The sales guy was very cool and said come back in march because it will be truck month. He said he didn't know what the rebates will be, but they should be really good. Said they are always really good in march.

Anyway depending on the rebate amount I may get a laramie. I am debating on sport or lar. Any owners of each trim want to share their opinions on the two?

Also, did anyone buy during "truck month"? What kind of rebates am I looking at?

I do not want to burst your bubble or anything but it sounds to me like the salesmen already made his quota for the month and he gave you and excuse to come back next month. He earned your trust my telling you, you can get a better deal next month so he figures he can make an easy sale next month. If the rebate's are the same he will come up with a clever excuse to explain the reason why the rebates are the same. You beleive him becasue you think you can trust him. It's called sandbagging in the sales world. I was a Military Recruiter and we used to do it all the time. Save contracts for next month to make it easier for us to make our quota. I can't say as if I blame him because I know the stress that quota jobs bring so I do not blame him. While he may be telling the truth about the rebates I do know that they are not told the rebate amount's until closer to the end of the month. Now having said this rebates may be good next month I do not know. I am just simply giving you a little insite into the sales world. Good luck.

P.S. I have the Hemi with the 3.92's and it is awesome!

Its a tough call, March is truck month and usually have good deals. Either you choose one now on the current deal or wait till next month, but you lose the chance of what's offered today which might be better? Overall, you just need to pick and be happy with what you pay. If you're ok with the price, then buy it. There will always be better deals down the road, but you have to ask yourself, when do you want your truck? Otherwise everyone would wait for the end of the year blowout sale. When sales are low, the next month will have better rebates to get ppl to buy. You have one more week, i'd say wait and see what next month has for truck month. But, if the sales aren't better or the same, i'd take my business some where else. If he's willing to lie now on rebates, what else will he lie about to get you to buy the truck?

Let me give a little more detail on the discussion. I told him upfront I wasn't going to place the order right away. I am waiting for some of my stock to vest before I place the order (my down payment). And he also said that if the factory incentives change while my order is being built/delivered that I would get the better factory incentive. So, in theory I should just order now and see what happens in March.

Again though, I have to wait for some personal finances to move around even to put down a small deposit for the order.

So, any Sport or Laramie owners out there? I was thinking sport but would be willing to move up to Laramie if the incentives got really good for March.

I have been reading on here that the leather seats look to wear quickly and that the chrome bumpers can begin to rust over the slightest chip. However, I do love the looks of the Laramie from the outside and the interior has all the luxury features standard. I'm looking at another $1500 to $2000 for the Laramie over the Sport. Any thoughts?

And as a side note to the Chrome problem....Couldn't a body shop take off the bumber and give it thicker coat of chrome? Or is that just not realistic?

I was told the worst time to buy is when tax refunds start rolling in, that dealers are less willing to deal during this period.

I have a Laramie CC 4x4 with 3.92lsd, love the truck all around, my 3rd ram in 9 years, the seat seems hit and miss to the 09, have not hear of any 2010s with it, just had mine redone by dealer under warr. via uphostery shop, going on 2 weeks still fine, live in salty south florida with dump trucks on the road, my chrome looks as good as the day I bought it, if woriied and you live in snow areas, need to put polish on it and keep it clean, painted bumpers have their drawbacks as well.

My bumpers are looking fine and we had a lot of salt this winter, granted I hvent whipped the magnifying glass out yet.

Ventilated leather buckets are still doing OK, I'm 6'4" and 225lbs and I'm not easy on them.

I usually just buy the model that comes standard with most options, in my experience it makes them more desirable at trade in time. Seems the dealers overlook a lot of the options if you just load up a lesser model. Plus if you are going to be making payments, may as well get the nicer truck you like. Nothing worse than making payments on a new car for a few years that you wish you would have bought this-or-that option on until you reach the break even point to sell it.

As far as the best deal dont ever expect it to get better down the road, it may or may not. I wouldnt worry about that until you are ready to buy.

I just saw the Truck Month add for Dodge on Tv. It's 2-6K off depending on model/trim. Obviously if you choose a 40K truck, you'll get the 6K off.

That's f*cking awesome!!! Where do you live that you saw that on TV?

The Sport configured the way I want it is $40,360. 6k off plus what the dealer offered would bring me well under 30k. I may just spring for the Laramie then.

Did you see any details on dates? I'm assuming it starts March 1st or 2nd as the current $2500 rebate ends 3/1.
