Default Porting

I'm looking to do some HEMI performance mods...

I have a 2009 1500 RCLB 4x4- 3.92's , 17" wheels -- stock for now.
In the plans are a CAI, Long tube headers, exhaust and Superchips programmer - already have most of these parts, will get a custom tune this summer when I take on the project.

Question: Is there any company that I can send my alum. intake to port/ polish? I think any increase in air flow will help with the numbers.

Also thinking of getting some head work done...

Worst part, I'm on the college student budget!!!

Polishing the intake on a normally aspirated 4 cycle engine will IMPEDE your performance!

I'm not trying to start a lengthy discussion here. I'm just telling what I know from experience and years of research. You can take this info for what it's worth or not.

Porting and port matching yes, but when you refer to a polish (mirror finish) no
I could be wrong, but I'll bet If you look at your brothers intake it won't have a mirror finish on the ports. I'm sure the inside of the intake is bright and smooth but not polished to a mirror finish.
The swirl marks from the porting seem to break up the boundary layer of air and typically move more air, and or air/fuel mixture on a normally aspirated engine. Now forced induction is another story.
I think possibly (IMHO) that people see a bright shinny port job and refer to it as "Port and Polish" or they see a polished combustion chamber and assume the rest of the job is the same.
Years ago it use to S.O.P. to polish the exhaust ports to a mirror finish, but I don't think it's done much these days

Everything I've researched in the past year supports what B.Kaiser1 submitted above.

Port matching = Good
Port and combustion polishing = not so good
