3M Clear plastic film hood and bumper protection
Hi everyone
I'm brand new to this forum ... Just bought a new 2010 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Laramie 5.7 Hemi, nav, + + +
Decided to protect the front quarter section of hood, painted section of front bumper and headlights with 3M clear plastic film. Invisible and does not spoil the looks. Guaranteed to protect against bugs, stones and other road debris for 5 years. Won't tear, crack, yellow or lift off (unless you want to for some reason) Installed by Krown Rustproofing.
Wasn't cheap though ! $700.00 incl 4.5 hours labour !!
Has anyone else used this approach ?
comments, thoughts, experience ?

I had it put on to protect my rocker panel. I really like it, because it keeps the color of the truck, and if you happen to get something on it, it just wipes off. I thought about doing my front bumper, but I don't know yet.
Getting ready to do the same thing to my Challenger but taking it further with the full body paint protection and interior protection. Also, ask your dealer about putting the film on the rocker panels behind the wheels.

I clear bra'd my 2009 and my 2010 Laramie. I have the hood, head lights, the colored panel on the bumper, rocker panels, and inside rocket panels done. The total cost was $800. I will never own a brand new car again without clear bar.

Hi, i would like more info on the 3m clear film, i have a black truck and would like to cover the hood and bumper against paint swirls, and keep the paint in optimal condition, where did you get the film?, it goues over the paint right?, is it kind of the same clear film that you put over ipod to protect them from scratches, thanks

This film is expensive, I would let a pro handle this job. they have kits and then the rocker work is all custom. You paint should be washed and clay barred before you apply the film, it's more like window tint.

Clear bra is good stuff, I had it on my Denali. Just be aware, if there are any paint chips, they will be much more noticeable with the clear bra(especially on a black or dark vehicle). The material sticks to the paint and dries on it and if there is a chip, it makes a little bubble that looks white. I had a couple on my black Denali...pissed me off!!
