The older REN firmware would let you play DVDs if you pushed the audio key with a DVD playing, put it in drive and push the back key it would keep playing. It was a programming screwup and not a feature.

You can put that into the newer ones but you have to edit the older file to recognize the newer radio part numbers.

They describe it in here:

My husband's 3500 has a switch wired in where you switch it on & off 3 times and the DVD player will play while driving. I'm not sure how much it cost to get that put in- he bought the truck off a friend who had it done...

I had that on my truck. It did work when using the old firmware kpevin mentioned. However, be advised that the sound quality from this old firmware can be terrible, at least in my case. I upgraded the firmware to the newest update and sound quality was much better.

The dvd in motion was a good feature, but IMO its not worth having with terrible sound quality.

Your the second guy that mentioned the sound quality, I did downgrade to 8.400 a few days ago and the DVD sound was great - didnt change at all. One other here tried it and his DVD sound went bad as well. Granted I only tried one DVD, do you have the Alpine speakers (I do)?

I have the regular factory speakers, not the Alpine ones.

I tried it, I wish it would have worked, but for me it didnt, mine can burn at 2x, so that is how I did it,(kpevin) care to send the disc my way, if you still have it?, I would pay for shipping, make it sort of a group USE........LOL maybe i did something wrong ?
after going to the 8.400 I went back to the 9.292 all back to normal, also

i think they are using the 8.400 disc, that is why they are showing the audio screen, and this, only the 8.400 has the Jukebox feature, it is an Icon that has (JB)

Integrated Music Juke Box:

• Supports Gracenote Music file management system

• Ability to Rip and store music to HDD via CD or USB

I burned mine at 48X, since both of you guys got the crappy audio on DVD then I doubt my CD will do you any good. Which speakers do you have? I have the Alpines.

Its possible you have the same PN radio as I do, but there there is a difference between the Alpine and regular speakers since the Alpine has an external amp. Maybe your radio need to be in a differnt section of the files I posted, mine had the '006' on the end and maybe yours doesnt use that one and its loading the wrong firmware.

Could be, I know it is fixable, but just have to find out how, I think you are on to something since 2 of us had the same problem,I tried burning it again, at 4x like they say to do, and the same result, when the screen goes black for a few seconds to reboot, your heart will pound a little harder, but nothing bad happens, it loads right up.just scratchy volume, and cuts out. Glad at least someone got it to work.

Do you have the Alpine speakers?

If not maybe the last digits, 006 on mine, may be the difference on yours, look in the engineering menu, there is another section that has the 004, 005, 006 etc.

And are you sure your radio PN is the same as mine?
