I've had my new sport for three days now and have fiddled around with the Alpine stereo equalizer a fair amount. The system is ok, but ONLY ok. I can't find a "loudness" control (to boost bass at lower levels) and if this thing has a sub (I have the 10 speaker setup), I can't say as I've heard anything from it yet.

The truck itself is really nice. I LOVE the ventilated seats, dual mode A/C and that HEMI power.

I would really hate to have to work on a new stereo/nav system in a new truck with all of the computerized stuff wired in.

So IS there a "loud" setting somewhere in this unit? Somehow, I don't think so.

I bought of the lot, no homework, I would have bought off the lot not problem but a later build although we are having good luck with this early build 09. I would have spent the 800 for the premium package too. You get a lot for that. I have a sport, upgraded the radio myself and added uconnect. I am gonna upgrade again to a Nav so I might have a REN with Satellite, and the Mopar uncconnect module and wiring and mike. the whole kit in the box with the cd. I willleave all the music on it too if you want. This is a future thing so if anyone is interested PM me. I have an RER but needs repair the screen got damaged so It has to go to United Radio they will only do complete resto no matter whats wrong. so with shipping both ways and the cost of an ebay radio might work out even. PM me'

I have not heard the Alpine system in anything other than my RC, and I think it sounds awesome. The first time I put in a movie it blew me away. There must be changes from RC to QC/CC.

I have a 10 Crew Sport with the premium package including the Alpine system, and when I bought it off the lot I thought it was sweet. After two months, I think it is just okay. The sound quality is decent, but overall it is not adjustable enough to get good mid range and full bodied sound throughout. I don't really listen to rap so that small sub and small sub sound is okay to me. It does work pretty good if you crank the bass up on the head unit. If there was a way to adjust crossovers or something I think the Alpine system could be tweaked and setup better to be a very good stock system. For the money though, go to a good aftermarket dealer and get them to put something better in.

Oh, and as you look at the sub boxes, keep in mind that the 3rd Gen Quad cab boxes will fit under the 4th Gen's rear seat.
This is good advice, I like having a factory looking dash including the head unit, if it were me I would use the stock head unit and upgrade speakers and amps.

btw, I have the alpine/sport sound system and I'm happy with it. I wouldnt spend more than around $800 trying to upgrade to it tho.

If you can get factory parts and have everything installed for under 8 bills thats a good idea but any more than that and you'd be better off going aftermarket.

Good Luck!

This is a good thread, I like the original poster am kicking myself a bit for not ordering the REN radio and Alpine system, as I cheaped out. The base factory system is pretty decent for me, but I'm looking at getting an REN for the look and the hard drive.

I'm pretty ignorant about the whole audio thing, in respect to aftermarket. Can someone breakdown the basics, as I'd like more power and clarity in the system, but don't want to go exotic with adding boxes and stuff under the rear seat.

Is it feasible to swap the REN, add an amp for more power, swap the door speakers and call it good? Again, please excuse my ignorance; any advice is greatly appreciated!

They won't sell you one. I found one though, It is not easy to just change the screen, It is easier to change the whole faceplate which I needed to do since the led was red.

I have a REN with the Mopar uconnect module and wiring and mic. All you need so you can use a bluetooth phone, and you can get a plug for and ipod for around 32 at the dealer. I am putting it on Ebay Monday morning so PM me if you are interested. I am upgrading to Nav.
