Default Ren -dvd in motion hack completed

I posted this in another forum, and I thought it might be wanted here........

I burned the CD today (8.400) and put it in my REN , and it takes about 10 minutes to get it all done, went in perfect, first thing I noticed is it added an icon to the screen I had never seen it was a JUKEBOX (JB)
icon, that part of it has separate places to put music on, then I tried it...............................Put in the movie,---- let it come on,---pressed AUDIO button--put the truck in gear --went down the road--pressed the DONE button, and BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN MOTION DVD VIEWING.

BUT heres the BAD, the volume **** is touchy (scratchy), AND the sound quality is REAL bad, not like it was, granted it played the movie ,but at the sound qualities expense, you could always just press the closed caption button and watch, but that is up to you.If you put the vehicle in park and pull it in drive again you have to do it all over again, the fwd ,rev, and pause controls also will make it cut off, you have to just leave it alone

Sooooooooooooo I put it back to stock with my 9.292 disc, takes about 10 minutes to install, which for me is still an up grade , didnt really see a difference but it is back with good sound quality, this version is supposed to patch or repair HD problems, lock up freeze, etc.

What this install does is down grade the newer version in the radio, to the older one that had this little glitch that was found, iN MOTION VIDEO

JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE
BUT IT DOES WORK

I was the one that posted it on the other forum how to do it, I didnt lose any sound quality at all though. Matter of fact its the only time I was impressed with the sound quality of the Alpine speakers so far. I tried everything and didnt see anything that didnt work right including my ipod with the 8.4. I mostly did it just to see if it could be done so I put the 9.292 back in, but the 8.4 may come in handy on long trips in the future for the wife and kids. The kids have no problem seeing the screen from the back seats.

Was your PN radio the same as mine?

Yes same part number as yours, mine , with all the things that I would have to do to get it to play , if you pull over and stop it will cut off if you put it in park, it wouldnt be that good for me personally, but the sound quality was real bad on mine, you could hear it ok, but it was scratchy, not like the regular set up.

My sound was perfect playing a DVD, I have the Alpine speakers, not sure if that makes a difference. Did all the modes screw up up or just DVDs?

Its a bit of a pain, but for long road trips where you are just going to watch a movie it will work.

Hey, just make sure you aren't texting about the movie you're watching while blasting down the freeway at 75MPH !!

How did we survive, growing up in the days when vehicles had windows so that the passengers could look out and watch their surroundings while riding on those long trips ??

I dont get what the big deal is, has anyone tried looking manually for music on the radio, you have to spend a lot of time with your eyes off the road, I am watching a TV show right now while I do this kinda like driving, you don't always have to see everything, most of the show can be taken in just listening. How many times you on the couch with your eyes closed while listening and someone walks in either turns it off or changes the channel and you pipe up "Hey I was listening to that" I know sleeping and driving are not the same but my point is you don't have to stare at it and if there is something really good going on, heck pull over if you have to have it that bad.
My fear is nowadays cops drive SUV's and Pickups like ours so they are up high enough to see in and realize you are watching a movie. That is why lockpick is good you can make the dvd while driving inop with the push of a few buttons.
