extended warranty
Just checked my warranty pamphlet. It looks like the 5yr/100,000km warranty is for powertrain only. The 3yr/60,000km basic warranty covers factory installed components. My gold plan covers the components (steering, air cond, engine cooling and fuel, front and rear supension, instrumentation, electrical, brakes and anti lock components...to name a few) to 5yrs or 160,000km. Unless you have the gold plus plan which is 5yr/100,000km.
Are you in the States? I don't think they had that option here in Canada. At least I wasn't told about it!
yea that is way too much, cancel it, get the refund ( and rebuy it from the link i posted) the lifetime bumper to bumper no deductable is only 3000, 50.00 deductable is 2200, and 100 dollar 1550
you will pay more then those amounts total betweeen what you lose from canceling the first one but in the long run will be ahead.
I don't usually keep vehicles past the warranty and every time I bought a warranty I ended up getting a pro-rated refund for the unused part. Recently bought a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder and got the 5/60K warranty for $695. Mainly due to all the electronics on it. And I plan to keep it the 5 years and don't want to worry about anything. Might have done the same on the Ram, but dealer wanted more than double for the same thing. No thanks.
Just remember you purchased insurance, you hope you will never need it. The peace of mind is worth something as repairs on rigs today can be thousands of dollars.
Until the 426 Hemi comes out with a factory 4 inch lift and 37's.
