Can an old one get reprogrammed or do I need a new one?

 

Pretty sure that you program the truck to allow the key, not the key to match the truck.

 

i put in the ram remote start and got two new keys with the remote come to find out they will not work with the remote start so i would like to get rid of them if interested i also have the ignition module to go with it .I asked the dealer about reprograming and he said you could do it just doesnt work between the two different type keys [remote start ] and the regular key

 

I had the factory remote start added. The dealer programmed my original remotes and my new remotes to work. Only difference is my original remotes don't have a remote start button.

 

Its actually for my dads truck and it doesnt have remote start. Tlyons68, what do you want for them?
