Already?
anyone else have their rear wheel speed sensors go out? just over ten k miles on mine. been waiting for parts for ten days or so. was driving home tonight and decided to take the senic route home, went the a few snow drifts, not serious, or so i thought. engine killed, fired it up, made it home and it wouldn't go into park. and for some reason i instictively shut it off. so now it's in reverse. WTF is going on?
parts are supposed to come in tomorrow so we'll see what the dealer says. hopefully i can get it there!!!

Speed sensors will not prevent it from going in park. Logic states something (ice/snow) is binding something up given that is what you were doing at the time, but that is also far fetched.
Only thing that I can think of is that somehow you messed up the shift interlock cable. (You have to step on the brake to get the trans in or out of park)
Note: I'm assuming it's a cable since that is what I've seen on other vehicles

This may be worth a try:

There is an override for the BTSI (brake transmission safety interlock) that allows you to move
the shift lever out of the PARK position if an electrical
system malfunction occurs (i.e., dead battery). To access
the override (using a flat-bladed screwdriver), carefully
remove the override cover which is located on the right
of the shift lever gate.
1. Turn the key to the ACC or ON position without
starting the engine.
2. Firmly set the parking brake.
3. Press and maintain firm pressure on the brake pedal.
4. Using the screwdriver, press and hold the override tab
through the access port on the center console.
5. Move the shift lever into the NEUTRAL position.
6. The vehicle may then be started in NEUTRAL.
7. Reinstall the override cover.

Odd that they only list one procedure. My shifter is on the column

I only pasted page 314. Your procedure is on page 313.
Real men don't have column shifters.
Actually, I'm having second thoughts about my console shifter. The darn thing is not very accommodating for my purposes.

i was actually looking at that the other night. if its a column shift there is a hole under the steering column that does the same thing. the hole has a raised edge around it and u can press the button inside it to release the shifter
The column shifter is okay, it can get in the way. Its too easy to hit those up/down shift buttons. I have hit the button twice stopped at a light and wondered what the hell is wrong when I drove off in 1st gear and it wasn't shifting.
I'd like to reprogram the radio volume up/down buttons on the back of the steering wheel to be the up/down shift buttons, poor mans paddle shifters would be badass!
