Default Hemi Transmission

I know this is going to seem dumb but is it possible to swap a manual transmission ie: T56 into a 2009 5.7l hemi automatic 1500 ram sport? What would it take besides the transmission? I prefer driving stick shift vehicles and am considering doing this to my Ram.

I also prefer manuals to automatics, bet it would have a lot more get up and go.

Lots of time and MONEY!! Anything is possible with the right skills, tools and parts. What you will need is the entire clutch linkage assembly from a SRT-10 ram, clutch assembly, bell housing, flywheel, drive shaft, etc., etc. Probably a lot of this stuff should fit with little to no mods. Then again the 4th gen changes might require a lot of custom fabricating, so you can kiss your warranty goodbye. Not sure if the stock computer would work, you might have to find a custom tune or swap that out too. But it still sounds like a pretty cool idea.

What if you took the clutch set and gutted a dodge challenger r/t.. I mean a totalled one. I also failed to mention money is not much of a problem i would just want a general idea what is needed and if the 5.7 guts of a challenger would work or would something else be instore?

Cops are using the CC Rams around here for radar and such. Man you pull up next to a new RAM hoping no traffic and he wants to go and you look thru the much darker tint than I have although it is grey area whether it is legal or not around here, and you see lights on the dash and computer and a cop at the wheel, then you look at those lights on the rollbar i the back and from the back they look like lights and from the front cop lights dang.
Makes me wonder is there a cop tune for the HEMI? or is what we have good enough?

I am going to assume there is a Cop Tune because the lack of a speed regulator they have. Same for the dodge charger and challenger..So i believe there is probably other performance coding in the ram

Be careful what you say about street racing on this forum, your asking for a never ending flame job from the anti-fun crowd. Anyway, I imagine that the clutch assembly from the challenger is not radically different from the SRT-10 Ram setup. Either way, you would need a lot of parts from the donor car/truck to make it work. A good hot rod shop with fabrication skills should be able to get r done.

The trucks will be the same as the cop chargers....they might have a higher speed limiter but the tune is exactly what we have. There is no "special" high performance tune for cop cars.
