Question Remove coil springs and install airbags....

Has anyone installed air bags inplace of the coils springs or has seen this done? I have the 1000lb helper bags, but they failed and are getting replaced today. I want the springs romoved and large airbags installed in there place. With full controls in the cab. I have contacted a local 4x4 shop to see if they can fab something for me. Any photos or info would be great. Thanks

Shouldn't be that hard to do. Even H2's were available with rear bags from the factory. So there has to be some sort of aftermarket alternative out there, or atleast something that you can make work.

BDS 4in kit:

Fox stuff:
Part # 980-02-247-A. They are by no means a direct bolt in, they are just a universal body. That part # will only work with a lift kit. I had to measure a lot, then fab / get machined some parts to make it work... and find some coils. I think they bodies retail for $400 each and roughly $100 per coil. And machining stuff is expensive, so plan on probably $1200+ total? Luckily in our shop there were some 700lb-in Hyper Coils laying around that work perfectly (and I fabbed my own brackets). You only want to go that stiff in the front.... The factory rear spring rate of these trucks is approx. 220lb-in.

You could get a dual rate rear coil made for the rear, it would be very expensive to get 2 made... but it's a possibility. The airbags would probably be your best route to go though... adjustable rate and ride height.
