Default MIrror puddle lights have puddles in them... Yours?

I reported a month or two back one of my lights stopped working. I was polishing today and decided I was going to take it apart to look at why it was not working.

Answer, and other have reported this.... Water in the light.

1. My lights are NOT cracked
2. These are sealed lights, you can not service.
3. There was a vent on the back side of the light (part that would be behind the mirror/inside the mirror housing).

There must be a design flaw here or the seals on this light failed. Looking at my drivers side light I did not see "alot" of water in it, however eviidence of water in it was present as it was stained inside from water/dirt.

Pics off my light out of the mirror, holding it in a couple positions so you can see that there is indeed water in there (a considerable amnount). Also one of the vent I referred to.

Called the dealer, they told me to put it back together and bring it in. I assume they are going to cover it. They said if they do need to replace I will probably have to come back as he did not think they would stock that. Another bad part.... I broke one of the clips on the back of the mirror glass popping it back on. Guess that will be about a $100 mistake. It seems OK but do not want to take the chance of it flying off driving down the road causing damage to the truck.

Dealer is replacing, no questions asked. They are going to do both. Mirror cost me $35.

In addition the manifold bolts and some other RRT is open on my truck.

If I have 5000 miles on my truck and I don't have any ticking from the exhaust should I bother to get the RRT done or do those RRT last for an indefinite time. Lets say next year I get a ticking. I don't want to fix something that might not need fixing. What is the problem? Stripped studs? It says the back studs have to be replaced why only those? What would you do?

same EXACT problem with my truck . march of 2009 build .. sport with heated mirrors .. i have reported this in a post i started a month or so ago .. i made an appointment with my dealer but never made it ... its real tough for me to find a ride to the dealership to drop the truck off, then go pick it back up .. unfortunately this will have to waite ...

the right one started 2 months ago in late january .. i noticed the puddle light was flickering ... upon checking, it was FILLED with water and had an icicle hanging off it approximately 6 inches long ...

the left one just started to fill with water ... i noticed becuase it was almost 60 degrees here today and i washed and waxed my truck .. so i noticed ..

also the chrome on the plastic reflection above the led's has begun to chip off badly on the right mirror ... i would sincerely hope my dealer covers this in full ...

6 months, 6000 miles and the most rain I have ever seen around here and no water yet, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

Now that is interesting. My was completed at the end of Feb 2009.

That is how mine went.... One day I noticed one of the two LED bulbs in the passenger light flickering. Eventually it just stopped working all together. That was a couple months ago. What you see above in the pics are Monday.

I stopped by my dealer at lunch to get my mirror and they said you also have these two lights.... I thought for a second.... If it were not for the two RRT's I would have just took them and installed myself. Yes, someone at the dealer would probably get in trouble, but that is not my fault.
