I thought I might miss out on the rambox when i bought my truck without it a year ago, but i haven't. The rolltop tanoe cover and a stroage container or two has worked fine for me. Plus my bed is bigger for hauling, and I can throw a camper on top or have more bed cover options in the future, etc.

I think the ram box can draw attention to your truck, but it's a great look truck with or without it.

I love the rambox, it is one of the most convenient accessories I've had on a truck before. It uses the wasted space on either side of the wheel wells and gives you a lockable, dry, dust free place to store things you don't want rattling around inside the truck. It also give you more than just the boxes. It comes with the bed extender that acts as a divider in the bed as well. This one thing has come in really handy more than a few times for me. Just yesterday I hauled a bunch of used old paint to the recycler and was able to set the divider right where I needed it to keep those paint cans from sliding all around the truck. I had a can of paint pop open in the bed of my 99 once while hauling it to the ranch to paint the deer blinds. Nothing like sky blue paint all over your black linex in a green truck! You also get the accessory rails with adjustable tie downs. I think a camper was mentioned before as a reason for the regular bed, but a pop up camper is one of the accessories that dodge has mentioned (haven't seen yet) that will attach to the rails. I am keeping my fingers crossed that dodge will come through on many accessories for this option but only time will tell. I know a lot of people don't really like the looks of the ram box, my wife included, but I just don't see the distraction myself. I also like the fact that when at the ranch and people are in the bed while we ride around, they have a really comfy place to sit. That wide bed rail is great for your butt! I guess I'm a little prejudiced though, I traded in a 6mo old 09 cc to buy the rambox. Doc, believe me when I tell you if someone is willing to trade you the cost of the labor to trade is not going to even be close to what I paid to get mine. It's about a $1900 option list, but if you trade you will never recoup the dollars you've put into your truck so far and will have to start over. As an example, after all was said and done with my trade, I figure I lost around $4-6 dollars to have the rambox. And I gave up my sunroof and leather seating in the trade to help offset the cost. It can be done with help from friends, but don't discount the proffessional help if you plan to keep the truck for a long time. I tend to keep my trucks for 10 years or more so I figured with the loss I took, if I keep the truck 12-15 years it will be negligable in the end. If you do go with it, please document it for others that are thinking the same thing. Jeff.

I have been watching Doc I think he needs an intervention. He is addicted to well what everyone else has on their truck. He has a nice truck but never happy LOL. So I think we outta have a raffle and take his truck off his hands. Hey Doc I have seen people do this with houses and made out like bandits. You pay 5 bucks or 20 even for a chance to win your truck , you have to set an amount that if you sell enough tickets everyone gets their money back. Hmmm I wonder maybe..no I love my truck and it loves us. Good luck Doc on the box swap

is $400,000 worth it for a car? or eople spending $700,000 for a house here in west LA that i could get for $40,000 back in indiana?

the fact is cost is relative. If you make $25,000 a year then $5,000 is 20% of your yearly income... then i would say no its not worth it. Take that money for a vacation, plasma tv or your kids college.

But if you can make $5,000 in two weeks AFTER your bills are paid... then i dont see a problem with it.

not really, if you have 5g's, why not buy something worth buying rather than wasting it on a fancy car napsack?

if money means that little to you, take the cash and give it to the poor. beats flushing it down the toilet

why is it not worth buying? im sure dodge is selling them... so some people want them.

i guess my 24s, subs, paint job and everything else i dont to my truck is a waste. i mean they serve no purpose other than i like them.. same as the rambox... i want it.. so im getting it. I think i might get it installed today.. if not it should be next weekend when i have time.

and as far as money meaning little to me.. you haven't a clue as to what your talking about... check the times i post on here.. its 3am.. 4am.. 8am.. 5 pm.. I only sleep 3 hours a night and not only own 1 successful business.. im starting another.. im also taking 14 credits in college.. i also have a 2 year old with another baby due in 6 weeks. So money means something to me or i wouldnt be working so hard to acquire it.

So im working my *** off buddy.. and whatever i spend my money on is not a waste, its my decision. And to suggest me give my hard earned money away to the poor without knowing how much money i already contribute is nothing short of ignorant.

sorry my mods seem like money flushed down the toilet to you... guess we should have all bought $15,000 used trucks and not $35,000 new trucks so we could donate it to people who took out a home loan they couldnt afford and are now crying cause the mean banks are taking their homes
